Another Day Younger With You

Story Behind The Song

The song is essentially a daydream, someone traveling on the road, but missing his lover so much he can feel her there with him.

Song Description

Simple but intimate and romantic love song, featuring only acoustic & classical guitar plus male voice and harmonies. It's a study in major and minor, switching back and forth between the two. Intentionally sparse, it's supposed to be a dream sequence though at first you think the 2 lovers are side by side. It's a play on words instead of "growing older" together.

Lyrics

I hold your body next to mine.
The feel of your heartbeat sending a chill running up my spine.
Wakin' up to a Sunday morning, a kiss from you to show me the way.
Won't you wrap your arms around me? Hold me like I want you to.
I want to grow another day younger with you.

Gentle breezes brush your hair.
The sun beams in your eyes -- pardon me if I stare!
It's never been like this before, I wish that I could stay.
Won't you wrap your arms around me? Hold me like I want you to.
I want to grow another day younger with you.

I've spent so many nights alone.
It's nice to know you're there in my dreams when I get home.
But wakin' up to a Sunday morning, I wish that you were here....
So you could wrap your arms around me. Hold me like I want you to.
I want to grow another day younger with you.
Another day younger with you.

Well done overall. Nice opening line in the vocal, a slightly unexpected melodic shape. Good title and lyric idea, too. And I like the ending. A strong performance.

What a beautiful song. Great instrumentation- skillful use of the guitar which complimented the whole track beautifully. The vocals were top-notch and lyrics easy to follow and cleverly written. This song sent me to a calm, relaxed and peaceful place. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really heart-warming piece with tons of soul in the lyrics. Guitar work is great, and this is pleasantly smooth from start to finish.

Wow this song is pretty. The vocals are clear and clean. The singer has a beautiful voice. The lyrics are well composed. The guitars are crisp and clean and well mixed. I love the idea of lovers growing younger each day as they are together.

The playing on this song is exquisite. The guitar work is beautiful. Great vocal performance and nice use of backing vocals. The chord progression is superb. A compelling melody. Great recording. The sound quality is excellent.

Here is an absolutely beautiful love song. Some of the best guitar playing I've heard in a long time, coupled with a flawless vocal. Add this to refreshingly original lyrics and a lovely melody. This song is a winner. I was looking for 10 stars on the guitars! Harmony was added at just the right place. This might be great for a movie!

Wow great tune great guitar love the arrangement. Instrumentation top of the top. Vocals fit the song nicely lyrics are fantastic. LOVE IT LOVE IT. Could definately see this as a hit on Adult Comtemp

Very nice easy listening feel and lyrics.
Lovely guitars, lead vocal spot on and self harmonies.
It sounds a little bit country to me, early Eagles.
The lyrical hook another day younger is a good idea too.
