That's One Thing

Story Behind The Song

Breakups are always hard, but when it's your first love it goes even deeper than you expect.

Song Description

Beautifully-haunting extended intro about lost love kicks into high-energy rock, going from 81 BPM at 162 BPM. Modern harmonies and melody over a driving Classic Rock-inspired baseline. Also features a brief wah wah guitar solo and drum fills reminiscent of Rush. Alternation between full-time and half-time keeps the listener guessing.

Lyrics

Wouldn't it be somethin' if I could have your love again?
Wouldn't that be somethin' to see?
When it's been a long time. Has it been such a long time
you've forgotten
all the things we had together?
Oooh it makes me sad, looking back on days of greener
pastures with you. With you.

Came along a Northern man who answered your demands.
You forgot to ask him why.
2 more men came along, then 3 and maybe ten.
You said, "I believe them all...."

But that's one thing you don't understand about me.
That's one thing you don't understand about me.

Nights turn into months how lonely they can be without you.
Can't you see there's still a fire deep inside of me?
You said, "I believe them all...."

But that's one thing you don't understand about me.
That's one thing you don't understand about me. No!

Nights turn into months how lonely they can be without you.
Can't you see there's still a fire deep inside of me?
She said, "I believe them all...."

But that's one thing you don't understand about me.
That's one thing you don't understand about me.
That's one thing you don't understand about me, no!
That's one thing you don't understand about me.

Excellent example of modern processive rock. Quality instrumentation and vocals. Very well done.

I really like the instrumentation and the lead guitar solo is great!
I really like the vocals well. The recording is really good, I love the sound of the rhythm guitar and the way the song starts and then grows when intensity. The drums are great too. Rock On!!!

What a fun listen! I didn't expect it to kick in the way it did...but it sure did!!

Reminds me of the best parts of the late 70s and 80s. The performances are solid all around, and the mix does justice to the genre.

And I must say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the hard, cold ending. It is absolutely perfect!

Well done.

Very well-put-together rock recording with strong songwriting and vocals backed by a solid arrangement and killer players.

wow, this is really special. i love this... its inspirational, and has elements of nostalgia as well. keep up the good work , this really is something very good and the drums are excellent!!!!!!

A very strong song. Great guitar work and the solo is blistering... nice wah wah pedal effects. I especially liked the bass arrangement, which has a prog rock feel. The vocal is excellent and good use of backing vocals. Nice change of direction at 1.42. Superbly recorded. Very tight sound. The sound quality is excellent.

This song is a stand out! The vocals are crystal clear and passionately sung. Instrumentation is also outstanding. Great job on the drums and lead guitar. The change-up is innovative - a nice touch. Another love lost tune...memorable for sure!

Nice Job! Great all around! Send the engineer a bottle of champagne!
