Story Behind The Song
The melody came from some instrumental work I was doing for a film project that didn't get off the ground. I liked the melody so much I sat down to write lyrics to fit the music. The idea of having to come to terms with the inevitability of a pending break up was inspired by the film project and it seemed to fit very well as a theme.
I have been in search of a female vocalist who was prepared to take on the song and I'm delighted that Emma Jane agreed to an online collaboration to produce this version.
Many people will have realised that in fact the first version was sung by me, not Emma Jane. This latest revision irons out some technical issues and adds guitar and a fuller orchestra to the arrangement, again beautifully performed by Emma Jane.
Song Description

Lyrics
Love Is In The Things I Do
© 2012 Lyrics & Music by Bob Bentley
Vocals: Emma Jane
Verse One:
You will never change
But I've tried to be the best that I can be
I am still the same
But I know inside you're planning without me
And any future's hard to see
Chorus:
Love, it's in the things I do
I've always given mine
Love, is different for you
I must accept it's time
Verse Two:
Like many times before
You expect me to forgive your sad affairs
But there will be no more
Now you've brushed aside the love we used to share
And it's not that I don't care
Chorus:
Love, it's in the things I do
I've always given mine
Love, is different for you
I must accept it's time
Bridge:
You, are all I've ever known
I've given all I can
To be here on my own
Accepting all I am
Chorus:
It's in the things I do
I've always given mine
Love, is different for you
I must accept it's time
Verse Three:
My heart will be with you
But I'm sure the day will come when I'm OK
Just have to see it through
And a time will come when I can say
That I'm over you
