Me And Bobby McGee (Cover)

Story Behind The Song

I have liked this song since I first heard it back in the early 80's and chose to make it my first ever recorded cover song. It brings back very fond memories of performing it many times with two different music groups.

Song Description

Country song looking back with fond memories of a past relationship. Co-written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster, this iconic song was first conceptualized with just a title -- inspired by a real person. Foster had a bit of a crush on Barbara "Bobbie" McKee who was a secretary on Nashville's music row.

A nice country rendition of this classic song. The key change is executed well. The instrumentation sits nicely below the raw male country vocal. Nice backing vocals and harmonies. All of the parts work well together. The main vocal transitions well with the higher register towards the end of the song. A pleasant, unpretentious laid back version of the track.

Great job on the cover......
