Story Behind The Song

I have liked this song since I first heard it back in the early 80's and chose to make it my first ever recorded cover song. It brings back very fond memories of performing it many times with two different music groups.

Co-written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster, this iconic song was first conceptualized with just a title -- inspired by a real person. Foster had a bit of a crush on Barbara "Bobbie" McKee who was a secretary on Nashville's music row.
