Lyrics
In June when all the flowers bloom
In gardens, woods and fields
And weeds grow tall along the roads.
When days are long and full of sun
And nights are short and warm
The sun shines longer every day
But we know that it cannot stay
At summer solstice it must turn
And every day will cede to night
The minutes gained through spring.
As summer wanes and fall grows near
The dark of night grows darker.
The August moon is huge and red
It seems to want to compensate
For the retreating sun.
And all across the August nights
The broad swath of the milky way
Shows off its multitude of stars
And streaks of gold criss cross the dark***
When stars fall off the sky
