Story Behind The Song

A woman I know volunteers at the Camp Pendleton Marine Base. She helps to host a farewell party for the families of soldiers who are being deployed. This last party was for a group of marines going on an Aircraft Carrier for 8 months. Lots of hugs, kisses and tears. The party ends and they get on a bus to go. It was the party after that one that hit me so hard. That group of Marines was going to Afghanistan. She told me how difficult it was to watch those same goodbye hugs, kisses and tears, as it was possible that some of them might not be coming home. Just one more time............ Whew!!!
