Story Behind The Song

The yueqin solo was originally going to be an organ solo, but when I played around with the instrument, I liked the sound, so there it is!

Song Description

The Taiwanese yueqin is different than the Chinese instrument of the same name. The basic difference is that the version from Taiwan has only two strings, while the Chinese version has 4. The playing style is also different. The strumming pattern, which I used in "Over Me" is to hit both strings, but have the lower string primarily as a drone (playing the same note, generally as an open string), with melody or chord structure provided by the higher string. This is the way I played it.
