Lyrics

I'd crash through the woods
10 inches of snow
Hot on a blood trail
Wherever it goes

I made all my money
By chasing down things
Blowin up bridges
Melting down rings

I lived like a hermit
Surrounded by folks
I did it on purpose
It wasn't a joke

When things fell apart
I could take it no more
The sirens were wailing
I'm not that anymore

The woman I married
Was cold and remote
She had many scars
She wore a black coat

The new moon was rising
She buried my guns
She left in the morning
I held on to one

The letter she wrote
Was scribbled and mean
Ironic and bitter
With tears in between

I shrugged it all off
With a curse and a roar
No tear did I shed
I'm not that anymore

The roads that I traveled
Were dangerous paths
Henchmen and harlots
Graveyards and rats

I pushed when I had to
Then cut to the chase
I always raised double
And led with an ace

The time that I spent
Alone with my thoughts
Were fleeting and hollow
Memories bought

I'd stick to my guns
And look down the bore
The trigger would click
I'm not that anymore

I'm calling them out
All the liars and cheats
I used to be like them
I know their deceits

Politicians or preachers
They're one in the same
The keep us all frightened
But don't take the blame

Sometimes after midnight
I try to believe but
I never found Jesus
He never found me

Some wiseman or prophet
Might come to my door
I won't hear them knocking
I'm not that anymore

An energetic, intense folk-rock track that come across as cathartic. Palpable emotion intensity in the vocals.

Clever, very clever and very dark. I like it a lot. The lyrics are great, very amusing, sarcastic, sad and sardonic. The voice fits the content to perfection, and for once I found a song with great percussion that contributed to the whole. As a rule I want to take away the drums or wish the drummer would be a bit inventive, in this the drummer fits the music and the song. I think it is a wonderful song and a wonderful recording. I enjoyed it very much

A really compelling story and strong musical backdrop......had to keep listening ! Sounds like you are having a really great time with a message to deliver !

Good instruments and vocals.
