I've Got To Hear Your Heart Beat
©Jeffrey C. Ashbaker 2-2014

I've gotta hear your heart beat
I've gotta hear your heart beat...tonight

Time is moving faster than it
Ever has before
Days are more like hours
And the hour's nevermore

--Refrain 1--
Common sense should tell me why the shadows hide the light
But I only see two colors, Black and white

I think I'm seeing faces of the people from my past
I know I'm hearing voices, but they don't last
--------------------
I've gotta hear your heart beat
I've gotta hear your heart beat...tonight

There must have been a calling that I
Never even heard
There's gotta be a vision
In among these haunted words

--Refrain 2--
There ought to be a new game that divides the night from day
There's gotta be a card left, I can play

I've gotta hear your heart beat to guide me toward the light
Love'll help the daybreak through the night
--------------------
-Solo ½ Chorus Break-

--Repeat 2nd ½ Chorus--
I've gotta hear your heart beat
I've gotta hear your heart beat...tonight

Good song and well-performed. The band is really solid and the hook is REALLY OUTSTANDING, as it hits you immediately and stays throughout. Good job.

good song, catchy, good vocals, nice guitar fills and solo, harmonies work well,

Love this tune and the band. Feels like the 60s all over again. Great hook. Guitar playing is also exceptional.

Good piece with a really good beat and very nice arrangement. Great guitar work.

The instrumentation is excellent; great playing all round especially the lead vocal. Nice use of backing vocals too. The lyrics are very strong. Strong chord progression. The song is very well recorded and the sound quality is top notch.

Smooth male/female vocal and tight harmony. I love how the guitar plays cool licks throughout the song then tears it up fpr the solo. Nice ending/Coda!

Very nice song, X meeting Johnny Cash. Great lyrics, nice move doing harmony. Nice repeating Your Heart Beat, a basic in a song like this and you get it.

The vocals are really good. The background vocals are really good too. The tempo is really good. The dynamics are very good. The instrumentation was top notch. The mix is right on!! I also really liked the guitar tone.

at some times your vocal sounds Morrison ish.
reminded me of the doors a bit.

enjoybale bluesy rock track. liked the style of the track would sound good in a movie. cool lead guitar solo and drum/guitar rhythm works well together.
