Hi Jeff, haven't talked for a while. Thanks for the good review of 'Just Like Me', you're right, it is a very personal song and very much autobiographical. As such, I never really expect too much in the way of critical acclaim of songs like this , the writing and perhaps more importantly, the finishing of them is more or less enough. I suppose it means that you can go back to making stuff up again! So I'm really pleased that you enjoyed it and thanks again. Good luck and talk soon. Stay safe.

It was actually to my son and daughter. Guess I should have used an adjective such as little or baby to make it more clear.

Thanks for your review of Rising Sun Blues. The lyrics are the originals by Clarence Ashley as recorded in 1932. Doc Watson brought Clarence Ashley into the studio in 1962 and added the last verse. The original composition and recording by Ashley is a 1, 4 & 5 progression. It has been morphed and changed over the years. This is my arraignment and vocals performed and recorded by our trio Marshall, Bolt & Harr in 2013 at Jackalope Records Santa Rosa Ca. Hope this finds you well and happy my brother.

Jeff, Thank you for listening and reviewing "Alknomook" It started out as a 17 century song written by a Dr's wife....well I heard a version and believe me... it was not for 2000's so I made it my own....it is part of my American Tapestry cd... which I hope to have out soon... so thank you... your friend in music ๐ŸŽผ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ

Thanks for all your wonderful and very considered comments. Yeah, "fettered" would work well, I believe I choose metered to make the connection between the different hearts and the different type of poetry, free form verse and metered line poetry.
I always enjoy your very "thought through" in depth responses and reaction to my song! Thanks Jeff

yeah fettered would be more alliterative and would be the opposite of free, kind of. Ha ha if you change it I won't charge ya. Your friend, Mrs Kate When I heard metered, I wasn't sure if I heard the word right. You don't think of a person being metered. My first thought was parking meter, ha ha.

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the very nice and thoughtful review of my song, "Sunday Morning". It was the "solo" version. Very much a Joni-Mitchell-esque tune. As you noted, easy-going, simple story of a couple enjoying a Sunday together.

Funny story to share. So, I was thinking about taking 6-7 similar type of songs to my old producer and included this song. When I called for his feedback on the tunes and he jumped on "Sunday Morning" and blasted it and went on-and-on why he hated it......I sat and listened to him and when he finally shut-up, I gently asked him, "What specifically DON'T you like about, "Sunday Morning"?.....and the line went quiet and he said, "I guess it is because I don't have anyone in my life and haven't had for sometime...who I could spend a Sunday morning". I held my breathe to keep from laughing then said, "Hey, I gotta go, the dog needs to go out for a walk"......and I DON'T even have a dog....

This is why I love reviews....some are so funky and others, like yours, fosters a new hope for humanity.

Best,

Chet Nichols

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your kind review of The Wind Is Blowing. It is really the work of Jared LoStracco but it's on my page because, with the exception of acoustic guitar, I arranged/provided the additional instruments and harmonies. I will make sure Jared gets this.
Thanks again,

Bob
