Story Behind The Song
At the end of corporate life and determining to spend more time working on my art, taking whatever job was available, I find that maintenance on my car of choice had put me in a heretofore uncharted position (riding the DART bus and train in Dallas, if I intended to save enough to ride in the style I wished to become re-accustomed to.) At a transfer point, while waiting, I hear a conversation taking place on the cell phone of a cute young latina girl. I become quite enmeshed imagining the entirety of what would happen if I were a part of that situation. The result is this song.
Song Description
The question is whether all is fair in love. The girl who overhears the conversation between her best friend and her boyfriend gives the boyfriend the option of deciding where his allegiance will lie.

Lyrics
VERSE1:
When I saw her there at the station,
I said STOP! That's my BFF waiting,
So engrossed was she with the phone,
She never knew I was there.
Starting at the tracks, on the 410,
From the Ferris wheel at Addison,
Moving down Beltline, headed west,
Away from the fair.
CHORUS1:
I heard her say-
I've done what I can, I've let her know.
I heard her say-
She gave you up and got over you.
I heard her say-
You'll never get her back, so let her go!
Get her off your mind!
If you wanna know the truth, she changed on you.
I'm the only one that's always been there for you.
I'll tatoo your name across my heart.
Say the word, and I'll be there.
I heard her say -
I'm calling to say, it's all up to you.
I heard her say -
I'm calling to say, it's up to you.
VERSE2:
She never saw me there at the station,
How she missed my 650 when I stopped to stare,
I'll never know.
She never turned around, when I walked up behind.
She didn't know I was there at the station,
When I heard her tell you, she loved you.
So I'll have to admit, she's correct,
It's all up to you.
CHORUS2:
I heard her say-
I've done all I can, you can let her know.
I heard her say -
You can give her up now, and she'll get over you- baby.
I heard her say -
You've got me back,so you can let her go - I'm ready.
Put me on your mind!
If you wanna know the truth,
I've never changed on you.
I heard her say-
I'm the one who's always been here for you.
I heard her say -
I've tatooed your name across my heart,
Say the word, and I'll be there.
I'm calling to say, it's all up to you.
I'm calling to say, it's up to you.
