Thank you for your kindness. This is the type of encouragement that keeps me working to pay for production. Keeps me working to ask singers I meet to work with me. It keeps me believing the songs are good enough to move from the paper.
Thank you for taking the time to review "Christmas Card". It is evident you gave it a thorough listen and I truly appreciate that. (I'm the songwriter. The artist (Cathey Sparks) with the wonderful voice has a phrasing that differed slightly from what I wanted. The producer (Joe Milton, here in Texas but out of your state of California incidentally) played the keyboard and guitar and he used my horn MIDI files (produced by FINALE) in his system. (So, even though I play piano, none of the physical keyboard playing is me.) But THANK YOU, I DID write the music and lyrics.
Hi Carol, You're welcome, when I do reviews I like to break it down and let the artist know of the details I hear or the suggestions I give. I think I can hear some of the vocal phrasing you're talking about... very minor detail in my eyes but to the song writer I can see how it could be... a big deal. Safe to say you were not present for the vocal recording? Nevertheless I was impressed with the details in the programming, it was very creative. Nice song, congrats!!!

When I play your song, "The End", just before mine "My Merry Rocketship", there is a kind of continuity. They would go well together, I think (If I change keys ). Your song, "The End", is thought provoking. It leaves you wanting more - so it is just the right length, just enough, just great.

I do not think the song is bad. I was simply explaining why I did not rate the song as excellent. If I'm wrong about what I said, please accept my apology. This rating of other people's work on this platform is new to me. I guess once people start telling me what they think of my songs, I'll get comments I can't agree with also.

Like the song overall but needs work. Keep verses the same in rhyme pattern, lyric cadence , and melody. Verse tells the story. V1 and 3 are the same gut V 2 is different. Keep chorus the same every time. So find you number sticker hook, put it in the chorus and keep it the same. Good bridge try putting this line at the end of the bridge "If it's the truth, it won't change." Then replace it in the chorus with your hook "Truth Never Changes" Very nice start, just make a few changes before you go to Joes's with it.
