1
We promised each other, when one of us, went on,
We'd say in a quiet prayer, how each day had gone.
Well dear, I'm praying now: So sorry it is me,
Wondered if I'd be the first, but it was not to be.

Out the blue, it caught you cold; no time to say, goodbye.
Hope, you can hear me now, With heavy heart, I'll try.
Your presence is around me; small things, here and there,
Though I cannot hold your hand, your touch, is everywhere.

Ch.
Rest now my love,
Let your spirit, go free.
There's a timeless, place somewhere,
You will be waiting, for me.
I love you still,
I always will.

2
I glance all around the room, at treasures we display
And recall every story, of the pleasure, each one gave.
An ornament, a little dish, a pebble from a walk,
They would tell a happy tale; If photographs could talk.

I miss your ever knowing smile, the twinkle, in your eye,
Your wicked sense of humour; the little odd white lie.
The warmest love you freely shared, with all the family
Your Hand in mine, along the sand, our favourite place to be

Ch.
Rest now my love,
Let your spirit, go free.
There's a timeless, place somewhere,
You will be waiting, for me.
I love you still,
I always will.

3
In a peaceful evening I wish that you were here
Lost in another book, comfy in your chair.
Sometimes when I'm drifting off, I'm sure you call my name
I stir, and quickly answer but, the silence falls again.

Told someone the other day, "I've lost my rock and strength",
Wiped a tender moments tear, "I miss my closest friend!"
I think back, to the day we met, when first I saw your face
Then forward to that bitter sweet, warm but last, embrace.

Bridge (Added Dec 2020)
As you drift away, my heart will follow
To show my love is true.
When our moment comes I will call your name
Place your hand in mine, till end of time

Ch.
Rest now my love,
Let your spirit, go free.
There's a timeless, place somewhere,
You will be waiting, for me.
I love you still,
I always will,
I always will.

You had me with the piano opening and the vocals. love the piano and her voice. Did you like specific instrumental parts-Chorus melody I enjoyed I wanted more of piano and violin for this song. 1) Does my intro make you want to hear the song? yes 2) Does my opening notes draw you in and make you want to hear more? Yes 3) Is my melody interesting? Yes 4) Does my melody get stuck in your head? yes 5) Does my music stand out and take the song to a higher place? yes
