Jay Pounders
Jay Pounders was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in and around Memphis, Tennessee.
After forming Crossfire Choir in South Florida, the band settled in the New York/New Jersey area, became the house band at CBGBs (managed by owner, Hilly Kristal) were signed to Geffen Records and went on to record their debut album with famed producer, Steve Lillywhite (U2, Peter Gabriel, XTC).
After being dropped by Geffen, the band went on to release a second album on Track Records with producer, Ed Stasium (Living Color, Smithereens, Ramones). Crossfire Choir toured with many national acts (Midnight Oil, Thompson Twins, Culture Club, Goo Goo Dolls, Spin Doctors, etc.) and was a fixture in the indie music scene for years.
Jay Pounders is currently living in the Los Angeles area and continues to write, record and perform his original music for anyone that will sit still long enough for him to do so.
