Hi Marcel, Thanks for a detailed and honest review of Days Of Mystery. Much appreciated. Stay safe. Bob
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and review my song "Last Night I". I appreciate your comments. Again, thanks and be safe! :)
My pleasure. And Keep writing !
Thanks so much, Marcel, for reviewing my song 34. Guilt. Much appreciated. Best wishes, jay
Hi Marcel, Thanks for a very constructive review of What If You're Wrong. I can only agree with you about the mix, I was going for a particular feel and think I probably overdid it a bit!! It's a controversial subject so I very much doubt it will ever see the light of day- it was a bit of an indulgence at the time and I probably will leave it as it is. I might find new lyrics for it one day and will reconsider the mix when I do. Your review was honest and helpful - I like that! Cheers, Bob
No problem my pleasure. I try to be as honest as possible even if sometimes it may not be what people want to hear. And I expect the same if somebody reviews my songs. Take care.
Likewise Marcel, otherwise we don't learn.
Hi Bob. All your songs are very well crafted and recorded. Professionally executed and radio ready. Curious where they were recorded...
Thanks much! Everything was done here in Charlotte NC at GAT3 Studios. I have 1 guitarist that plays almost all parts (including bass) on all my stuff, and another guy who does all keyboard parts. I've used 2 different drummers, and I'm singing all parts on 95% of my songs. What can I say, I'm retired living on Social Security so we pretty much try to kill it in just a couple of takes, then overdub. GAT3 is a great little studio, and they have Grammy and Dove awards to their credit!
Do they have a big board or is it ITB all digital? And who mixed and mastered the songs?
They use ProTools, but here's a link to their website so you can check it out. The owner (Glenn Tabor) mixed one of my songs, but all other mixing/mastering/editing has been done by Wade Starnes. He's really good and oftentimes we'll take a handful of takes Jeremy played on guitar and "build" solos from that piece by piece. It's been very effective. https://www.gat3.com/studio-a
When you check out the client list, you'll see everything from Def Leppard to Da Baby to Queen Latifah to James Brown to Third Eye Blind. They can pretty much handle anything plus they're exceptionally nice people!
That's great. I'm mostly a rock/pop guy but have a bunch of songs that needed to be country as they were too good to waste on a pop song.;) I took my 3 songs to a Producer in Nashville and they did record through a SSL 9000 which was great. You get that big open sound. he charged me $2,400 for the 3 songs and he used his own musicians and vocalist. I didn't really have to do anything except sit and watch. But I'm open to checking out other possibilities if I hear a good sounding demo or finished product.
Very cool. I'm particular about being involved in my songs, both performing and mixing since I don't have kids and these are my babies. But whatever works! I just reviewed another of your songs by coincidence.
Thanks for the review of my instrumental edit, Marcel. The actual song is called "Cowboy" (I Wanna Grow Up To Be A Cowboy) and the full vocal version with harmonies is here on Broadjam as well. I just shortened the instrumental version so it would be tighter. Hearing it in context with the vocal does make a difference, but some Music Supervisors are only looking for background instrumentals. Thus the 2 options.
Got ya! I'l check it out. And thanks for your kind reviews of my 2 songs 40 HR Weekend and Mistake. I appreciate it....
My pleasure, Sir!
Hi Marcel, Thanks for reviewing Cowboys and Indians. I can only agree with your observations - it's an old song now and really showing it's age. It does need to be rerecorded, it's on my mental to do list but other songs are possibly a higher priority. It's very much a record of my boyhood when all I wanted to be was a cowboy, not very likely in Dublin, Ireland!! Thanks again, Bob
Keep at it man. The main thing is to stay active as a songwriter. And cheers!
Thanks.
Thanks for adding my song to your playlist. Cheers!
I'm glad to have the rockin' here!
Thanks a lot for your kind review!
Hi Marcel, Thanks for your kind review of Its Over Now. You are quite right about the 80's feel, it is a bit of a throw back but more by accident than design! I had a listen to a couple of your tracks, very original and some great musicianship and vocals going on. Good luck and thanks again. Bob
You're welcome. Glad to help out if I can.
Marcel, listen to some of your killer songs, WOWZA!! Great Vocals and guitar playing, very cool tunes, GREAT JOBS!!! Gave several of your songs 5 Stars & Likes!! Nice songs!! M & A Corey
I appreciate that and keep on rocking....
Cheerio Young Man.... Keep Rockin' in the New World
I just added some comments for you. I hope it helps.
Dear Marcel, you just reviewed our silly song, "Poopers McGoo Sinclair". You are correct about the lyrics being buried in the Mix, this is what you said about our song! I dug the vibe in this. It reminded me a bit of Prince but it also had a 70's thing going for it too. I can envision this in a movie or any other Pop radio. Good work. Constructive Comments The only thing I can say is that I had a hard time hearing the lyrics throughout the song due to the heavy Reverb. A little less reverb would've been nice so I can listen to all the lyrics clearly. But good work! As you suggested, we went back and took out some reverb and brought the Lead Vocal up a tad! If you have a chance, we'd love you to give our tune another listen and see if the music sounds clearer?? Truly appreciate all your helpful comments, is was a very helpful review of our material!! Oh, being from Florida, have a listen to our newest tune, "Mar-a-Lago" M & A Corey Peace Out!!!
Thanks Marcel for review of "I'm Cryin" It's such an awesome feeling to get good reviews, which makes for more musical outputs to create more. Thank you so much. It is very much appreciated. ðŸ'‚
You're welcome, keep on writing and recording. Only way to keep getting better....
Heya there thanks Art Margie and Mr. Poopers for the 5 stars of Recipe of Love, hugs and much love for a great weekend, DeDe Wedekind :)
Dear DeDe, Got to ask, are you writing your songs from a autobiographical point of view?? It's funny, we don't usually write about ourselves in our songs, but get most of our ideas from relatives...They don't listen to our music, so they have no idea that we are penning tunes about them LOL!! Usually....when we do writing something extremely personal, I'm unhappy with the Universe or something that is going on in our everyday lives!! Unfortunately that happens way to frequently these days....BUMMER!! Anyway, hope your part of the world ain't too HOT & HUMID TODAY!! It's finally cooling down some in our area!! Good Day!! M & A Corey
Some of them are biographical, this last album was actually a story album...you can follow each song and see where I was at that time. But most of my songs are from others or ideas I get from just traveling and meeting people and hearing about people's stories and lives...some are from TV. YIKES! Hugs and thanks, take care and have a good one! dd:)
Thanks fpr the 5*****stars guys .. I"m loving the energy of you guys tracks keep th music coming .Paparazzi !!
I took a listen to that reworked song and it's much improved with less reverb on the vocals. Lyrics are audible and it no doubt improves the song. Always be careful with the pre-reverb settings, that's what drowns out and washes out the vocals. A tail reverb is much better as it gives it space but doesn't interfere with the attack. One more thing is try and maintain the beat on the bridge cause as it is the songs drops out in that part. Maybe add some toms percussion, tambourines or clap before you resume the verse beat. This will improve the overall track too. God luck with that song. I think you have something there. I'm in FL too btw, in PBG. Take care. Marcel.
Sorry your South Pacific event was cancelled. We can do a private re-prise with Larry, me, you guys and with Mr. Poopers when I come to CA ok? Hugs, DeDe :)

Thanks for your kind words and review and for enjoying my song. It's one of my favorites. Best wishes to you also and the best of success with your music as well !!!
Thanks for your review. It's always great to hear from other artists and songwriters.
Hi Marcel, thank you for your review. The song is being reworked and reproduced with a new singer. The song will sound really different. Mike
Great. If u have a potential good song it's never too late to improve on it. Good luck !
Thanks for your review of Don't Break My Heart Again vocal. The version you reviewed should have been taken out of review
hey MARCEL--thanxs for the nice review of my song--ROYAL RIDE--have had a lot of fun with that one--cheers--joe.---hope your summer has been a great one--pretty hot over here on the west coast!
Hi Marcel, thanks for your helpful review of "You're Superman to me". Glad you liked the song. Laura does an amazing job on the vocals and I agree it could use more instrumentation, although on most of my songs I just have a basic guitar vocal demo done. The song is a bit unpolished and could use a little re-write, but I agree with you that it does have potential. Thanks again for your kind and helpful review. All the best to you... songbird8/janet
Marcel, Thanks for your recent review of our song "Bring Your Love To Me". We appreciate the time you took to listen and review. Although it didn't meet all your expectations, we appreciate your honest input. Good luck to you with your music. Alan & Di (aka Double Trouble)
Hi there, Thanks for taking time to review my song, "(Spinning On The) Time Loop". It is the title track to my first album on Kama Sutra. The song is actually a wee bit pre-Elton John. Although I composed the song on piano , for the sake of doing a "live" studio track....we brought in some heavy-hitters to play on the track. Nicky Hopkins, long time Rolling Stones piano player, sat in and played the piano. Pete Sears from The New Riders Of The Purple Sage/Jefferson Starship, played bass. Dave Garabaldi from "Tower Of Power" played the drums. I did the vocals and played acoustic guitar. I have always love to record live with a band when I can. Nick Gravinites was producer on the track (Electric Flag, Janus Joplin, Big Brother and many others.) The song did make into the Top Ten charts WAY back then. Best to you, Chet Nichols Inductee - The Kansas Music Hall Of Fame
No problem Chet...I'm sure I'll come to another song of yours to review. I like your style, keep it up.
Great lyrics!
Marcel, I thought I recognized your voice when this song came up while I was doing reviews. I was looking for an appropriate word online and accidentally clicked out on it. Tried to get it back but that didn't work. Just to let you know I think it's a great song (the word I was looking for was inspirational). In any case I wanted to stop by and rate it since I didn't get a chance to complete my review.
OK Thanks...which song are you referring to ? Do I know you ?
I've reviewed about 3 of your songs, and you may not, since I guess you don't have to check out who the reviewer is. The song I'm speaking of is "Your Finest Hour". I also listened to "Talk To the Hand" (not in review) and thought it was great - especially the lyrics.
3 songs ? Lucky you ! Lol...thanks for your kind words and keep working hard on your music as well. It's a passion.
Thanks for your nice review of THE HEAT AND BEAT OF LOVE. I'm the lyricist. I didn't particularly like the vocalist.
No problem...always choose the best vocalist for your songs. I know from experience that it makes a big difference...good luck !
I had no choice as to who sang it. But I totally agree with you.
Thanks for your kind review of my song: LET MY LOVE IN. I'm the lyricist and I appreciate your comments.
Hi, thank you for your kind review of my track "Wind o' night (instrumental)". It is just instrumental version (backing track) of my song "Wind o' night". Osea
