Thanks for your review of my song "Son of a Rich". I think your assessment is dead on and will take the feedback to heart.
Thanks for your review of my song "compromise". I swear there's a bass line there, quite prominently in the mix too! I agree with you on the recording; could be better. I think I might re-record this one as I put the roto effect on it to mask the intonation problems I was having that day. Good to hear an honest review.
Mahalo for your review of my song Origami Daydream. I hope the islands inspire you to write many beautiful songs as it has me. My Ohana has been in Hawaii since 1911 and I know that growing up on Oahu has definitely shaped my songwriting. Good luck and thanks again.
Thank you for your informative review of my music! g
Karl, once again, thank you for your review of Laughter in the Hallway. I appreciate the time and effort and humbled by your comments.

Karl: Thanks for the kind review. Best, Mack Harrell
thanks for your nice comments on my songs/peace-joe.
Thanks for the review Karl. Peace my brotha. HuskyRecords.com
Thanks Karl for reviewing Lower Lip, it was indeed a fun blues song to write & record. When someone tells me it stuck in their heads, that really means I did my job well. Good luck in all you do, Linda
Hey Karl thanks for the insightfull and very useful critique of ship. these are the best kinda of criques. thank you very much. we need more reviewers like this. needless to say high marks on the critiuqe of the review. keep it up storm
i look forward to reviewing your music with a similarly poor attitude t your review of mine. i really think you should review music styles that you are acquainted with and remember that reviewing is NOT a competition .
Hi Tom. I'm sorry you feel that my review of your music was of a poor attitude as I feel that the song was a heartfelt effort. I have never felt that music was a competition and perhaps that is what drew me to music in the first place. I actually thought the lyrics were decent but I also feel that if you included more specifics the song could have been better. I definitely need to listen to more vocal styles of music to appreciate different lyrical styles as I believe that my education in such is just beginning. I stand by all of my comments. The pitch was off in parts as I can hear in my own recordings. I look forward to your review of my music as well no matter what you may say. I hope that we both can learn from feedback on this site to make us better musicians. I hope my review didn't discourage you from writing more music because I know I go to sleep at night dreaming of it and wake up doing the same and you probably do as well. When you live music it would be a shame to not express it even if it isn't appreciated by all as you expect it would be. Keep writing and performing and best of luck to you. Sincerely, Karl.
nice reply, cheers :) by way of explanation; the song is a son looking back at his tmes with his, now dead, father and the influence he had . the reason for the almost monotone voice is "expression". its a bit like the use of minor chords.. an expressionless voice actually can express more feeling sometimes than one with expression ( if that makes sense). unlike some styles which are different, my songs are stories. its a little like painting a picture really, you have a blamk canvas and 4 minutes to pain the picture for the listener. whch is why I dont do pop or love songs :) On our next CD, which I dont recommend to you as it might make you slit your wrists, we have 2-3 in the same style. I recommend you listen to Leonard Cohen ( check him out on u tube) just for "fun" Hey, have a great week, at some point I will check your songs out and i am sure they are great
Sure, I can see that. My music isn't exactly bubblegum so I won't be slitting any wrists. Check out my song, "Son of a Rich". It's along similar lines. I have heard some Leonard Cohen, I'll be sure to check out more. By the way, I'm originally from the UK. Mum and sis are still in London, (Mum's a schizophrenic and American dad is a textbook sociopath so my life is a whole book of songs). Peace, Karl.
Thanks for taking the time to review Mooly Cow Lullaby--you made me laugh! Sorry about the stuck vision. Yes, it is quirky. It was writen in the 1930's by my wife's grandfather and sung to babies in our family, now the 4th generation. I produced it to keep the legacy. So, picture a mom singing to her very little one... Thanks again!
That makes it even better. That's what I love about this site. You'd never hear most of these songs on the radio, thank God, most radio is crap. I hope your kids will sing it one day and it will be completely different as it should be. Thanks for recording and sharing it!!!
