Dave, Thanks for taking the time to review "Tortured Trumpets". Your comments and advice are very helpful.

Hi Dave - thanks for the exceptional review of my anthemic rock piece (edited instrumental version of "What About My Reward"). I appreciate the time you took, even mentioning the timing change! That was done with just 2 players, a drummer and a multi-guitarist/bassist. Written in 1972 it only took me a little over 40 years to get into the studio and breathe life into it.

Thank you Art!! Yes of course I remember you, I love your music!! If you'd like to see more, I have many performance videos posted to my YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/gruvpi g

Hi Jeff, Thanks for the review of Moroccan Star... So cool, Alan Parsons, I can totally hear that... and a lot of my songs have a Floyd vibe but this may blow your mind... I wrote this song in memory of Ronnie Montrose after he passed away so young back around 2014?? Anyways, I got to play with Ronnie, two auditions back in the mid 80s but I didn't get the gig... was a great experience playing with him though. Thanks for the good review!!

Hi Dave, it's an awesome track. I very much enjoyed listening to it. If I enjoyed listening to everything here as much, I'd be here all day just listening.

Hi Fred, thank you for the score on "Generations"... I appreciate your kind review... from your kind lol. I hope you are doing well.

Hello there my friend, fancy getting a review from you... hahaha. I was so relieved that it was a great review!! Song was pretty old though so some of the sounds were not top notch and yes the production was not to my current standards but you were very kind in your review. I hope you are doing well and it was good to 'see' you here again.

Great to hear from you too Dave! Hope you're well. Your song was excellent by the way. No doubt we'll bump into each other again at some point. David.

Dave here again... this doesn't happen very often but you almost nailed the name of my song "March of the Militant" with your title "The March"... so I guess that point was very well represented in the song. Yes I set out to create a 'period piece' and pretty much nailed the march part. Thank you for the props on my orchestration; I have always felt this good about the construction of melodies in this song... you were spot on with all of your comments especially about my weak (mostly brass) sound palette, I know it's actually embarrassing to me because I have a pretty high recording standard but it's also a pretty old song. However I do want to point out that you missed on one comment; you were certain that the snare drums had to be virtual (not played live) which was similar to a comment you had on another song you reviewed where you thought the guitar player virtual... this time I think your comment was "You've also made the marching snare sound live though it certainly is not"... wrong, most certainly the snare drum playing feels live because it is live, I played the snare drum. That is quite a complement!! I did a lot of overdubs on various drums to create that disheveled Civil War military band sound. I do things old school like still recording live people. Also I'm into world music so hopefully you'll have a chance to review some of those songs.. I appreciate your fair and thorough reviews.

Snare definite sounded live, I should have figured that means it's live :) Surrounded by sampled instruments I figured it was sampled. After I realized it was you that did it I figured it was probably live as I recall from one of your reviews that you are a drummer that owns a studio. Great work Dave.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for your fair and detailed review of "Apocalypse". No virtual guitar players in this studio, I appreciate the review points.

Thank you so much for your great review and nice comments about my collaborative song "Thirty Year Kiss". I appreciate great reviews from other quality members :-)

Listened to Destined to Fly - AWESOME job!!!

Dave, thank you ever so much for your spot on review of' "Chicken".. This is an old recording.. around 1990..Yep, it would need a complete redo!!Your professional review is much appreciated.. Ron

Dave thank you so much for your kind review of Strychnine. By far my favorite review to date. I like the old cliché of Less is More. It doesn't work for everything of course but I feel that a lot of music nowadays is way over produced. There is something to be said about space that appeals to my ears. Thank you very much for hearing that man. Best to you
Ante

Dave, thank you fo a very good and thorough review of "He Doesn't Know." I very much like your suggestion to cut down the guitar volume at 2:03. It would help bring in that build up I try to achieve as the song progresses. You have great versatility and craftsmanship!

Hey John, that's awesome that my suggestion worked out for you... thank you. In the recording, editing and mixing process, listen to your music very closely, in a quiet setting, and try to take 'yourself' out of the driver's seat and become an un-invested observer. Glad I could help, good luck out there... I'm gonna take another listen, thanks for the message.

Hi Kate, thank you for your nice review of "Circumstance"... just wanted to inform you that yes the violin in the track is an actual person... Leah Zegar, she's an awesome musician who before Covid was touring with Hans Zimmer

I've got a great violinist too, Rebecca Zapen. Google her

Thanks Dave for your spot on review of "Paper Moon" which was recorded in the late 90's...

Jeff Fong played all the brass as well as the keyboards.. Pam Homzey, Jeff's better half, played all the sax parts.. Erin, their daughter played the flute on 'fly me to the Moon".. That left me left me do the vocals...
Where were you when we could have used you to do the drum tracks!!lol

Again many thanks. Keep safe and well,
Ron

Thank you for your very kind review of "Destined To Fly"... it's female vocals you asked for, it's female vocals you get... the song you reviewed is the instrumental version of this one... https://www.broadjam.com/songs/cent erpeace/falling-deeper

Dave,
Thank you for reviewing " Desert Flowers Bloom", and your thoughtful comments.

Thank you for your super positive review of my jam "Subliminal Messages"... in case you were wondering the song is directed toward media, politicians and big money and not any personal relationship between partners. Thanks again for the great review!

Hi Dave, Thanks for your great review of my song "Rescue ME". The feedback is excellent and very helpful. This is an old mix of the song and I have remixed it a couple of times since. Completely agree with your observations and suggestions.

Tommy

Hi Dave. Thx for kind review of FB Addict. I appreciate the feedback also. The version you reviewed was performed by a very good musician and his band mates. The folk version is also on Broadjam with slightly different lyrics in the bridge. You might enjoy hearing that for comparison. It is performed by me and I am a better writer than performer but oh well. Take care. I am originally from Northridge. I notice you are in LA

Hi Dave, Thank You for the review on "Benandonner" It's much appreciated!

THank you so much... finally a completely spot on, honest analysis of this song. My early days of writing.. being a drummer my hooks are in the rhythm and phasing. This song "The Creator" has too many ingredients and not enough spice!! Thanks for a great review, all the best to you always.

Thanks for the awesome review of my song "God Speed". It's a 5/4 groove that has the potential to draw the listener in. I really appreciate you digging my tune. Wow, thank you!!

Hey Nathan, Thanks for your review of "Medieval Games". Your review was pretty accurate, the song is not about melody.. me being a drummer my hooks tend to be in the rhythm section and phrasing. You mentioned that Broadjam doesn't have a category for "Afro Beat"... I would suggest you try "World - World Beat" for that genre. All the best always.

Thanks for the nice review... give a week, I'll make the suggested changes....

thank you for your review of my song "Magnetic Attraction". You were spot on, very complete in your analysis.

Hi Dave. Thank you so much for your review of my song Today. So glad you liked it!! Sending much love and good vibes your way. Stay safe. kj

Thanks for the excellent review of my rock instrumental, Dave! You're 100% right, it's the backing to a Yes-like vocal track called "Tonight's The Night" and also right about the drums. Being on a shoestring budget, this was all done in 1-2 takes (including all vocal harmonies) but overall I'm still proud of the result. Recorded at age 66 on a Social Security income -- what can I say?

Cheers Dave and thanx for your spot on review of Arabian Rockstar. The sitar was a sample my producer found on this older composition (8 years?) and you are correct! Thanx for the good words I may have it reworked someday. Glad you didn't mention the drum program as that needed to be brighter!
Peace, Warren
