Wisconsin singer-songwriter Carrellee offers an understated meditation on love, life, and loss, drawn from years on the Twin Cities music scene and thousands of miles on the road in the U.S. and Europe with lyrical songwriter Thomas Kivi (performing as folk-duo Kivi & Pray). With a voice reminiscent of Emmylou Harris and Beth Gibbons (Portishead), Carrellee weaves lyrical themes of melancholia and yearning into a gentle, harmony-laden Americana soundscape. The new EP, Kingdom, was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Jacob Detering at Red Pill Studios in St. Louis, Missouri, where alt-country band Son Volt recorded their latest release (Notes of Blue). Carrellee's seven-song EP was released for download on iTunes, Amazon, and other digital outlets 7.21.17 under Gold Ship Records, an independent label based in Bristol, Tennessee.
