Song Description
This is an older song that I wrote about the concept that it's not where you live, but how you live that truly matters. I was inspired after I had a conversation (a debate really) with someone that claimed that I lived in a part of town where all the crime happened and criminals lived.
I made the point that there are criminals that live in upper class areas, and/or that are very rich and powerful people.
Needless to say it was a fairly short debate. ;)
This one (like all my older tunes) was recorded pre-studio and pre-Pro Tools, with either an Tascam four track or a Fostex eight track. I'm pretty sure this one was recorded on the Fostex.

									Easy Street
Words and music Frank Pietrantoni © 1997
Sam DiBaise (Guitars), Frank Pietrantoni (Vocals)
I thought my dreams were real on easy street
And I'd made the grade, and shake the hands of those I beet.
Though people smiled and waved hello
The truth rang through like thunder in a storm.
I found a man lying on easy street
I saw the children crying on easy street
And I thought the world was fair once you're on top
And time was cash and I had the time to start and stop.
No "who's who" in the city waved hello.
Reality takes no preference in who you know.
I found a man lying on easy street
I saw the children crying on easy street
I witnessed rape and crime on easy street
I saw the dreams of mine on easy street
I'm like the man lying on easy street I went a round
This target knocked me off my feet
I just had to know
I found a man lying on easy street
I saw the children crying on easy street
I witnessed rape and crime on easy street
I saw the dreams of mine on easy street
