Pat Nettesheim and Jason Klagstad announce WAMI and Guitars for Vets Alliance!

MILWAUKEE - WAMI believes in the healing power of music, and it's part of our mission to partner with like-minded organizations. Guitars for Vets, Inc. (G4V) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that strives to inspire and restore joy in the lives of wounded veterans by providing them with free guitars and instruction in a structured communal environment. Each of the organizations expect strength and value to flourish from a newly formed partnership. ? WAMI understands the deep connections made through music. Through partnership with G4V, we can connect members to satisfying volunteer opportunities that enrich the lives of veterans. ? WAMI aims to amplify the work of G4V and streamline the instrument donation process. ? WAMI's network of more than 6,000 musicians will bring new strength to the cause, whether through donations of lessons, cash or instruments. WAMI President Jason Klagstad said the alliance opens a door for greater support to our veterans while providing Wisconsin musicians with outlets to grow and extend their goodwill. "As an original G4V board member and lifelong musician, I have seen firsthand the powerful healing effect of musical instruments," Klagstad said. "Now, as WAMI's president, it is my honor to enlist our statewide network of musicians, providing more guitar teachers and putting more instruments into the hands of our veterans." Watch for announcements of WAMI/G4V events and instrument drop-off sites, such as Uncle Bob's Music Center, Wade's Guitars and Cream City Music in Milwaukee. Other initiatives will unfold throughout 2022. Wisconsin's music community can make a profound impact in muting the debilitating emotional effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other injuries born of military service. We invite all our members to join us in helping our veterans heal through music. ***************** About Guitars for Vets: G4V uses the healing power of music to support our veterans.
