Story Behind The Song

Although it's an instrumental, Halls of Crimson Ice has a story behind its music. The inspiration during the writing process were tales of epic voyages, battle and bloodshed, as well as the legends of Scandinavia's trolls. However, because there are no lyrics to be found, the music is to be interpreted by the listener. Halls of Crimson Ice begins with a serene acoustic intro, which slowly builds in intensity and aggression before unleashing a fast paced slew of heavy metal riffs. The song then adopts a deeply foreboding temper and vents an angry diversity of black and death metal. The song then peaks, and resolves to conclude with a heroic tone.
