THE TALE OF DANNY BILL

Somewhere up there in the hills
Lived a man named Danny Bill
Who liked to spend his time
In the local saloon

One day he made his way in to town
To old familiar stomping grounds
Got caught up in a fight
In an old family feud

Danny Bill shot down a man
That never was in his plans
All he wanted that day
Was his cold pint of ale

While in court Danny got on his knees
The judge wasn't buying his pleas
Danny was looking at
Twenty to life

His last days were in the county jail
Working out in the cotton fields
In the heat of the sun
And in the sting of the rain
