Story Behind The Song
I'm very proud of this song. My uncle came to me with this track and another, which turned out pretty damn good too. Anyway, he's one of those guys that's what I call a music "lifer" who never really got out of his basement if you will. This had to reach the masses. I took the raw pieces to the studio- enhanced it, and really made the music gel. Once I had a chance to sit down with him and the finished music in his humble home it all came together. I found out he had a drug problem, diabetes and a bad liver. Something like that makes you examine your life and times, and the music jsut seemed like a perfect recipe for that. It was a very cathartic experience.
Song Description
An honest, mature portrait of reflection and appreciation. A very artistic, stylish and soulful coming of age piece. The instruments recall the emotions of the 70's sound, and the encouraging tone of the lyrics and delivery makes this a must listen.

Lyrics
Rewind us back.
If life last and death past know this much
Till my last breath I'm gone blaze a path of dust. When the smoke clears, you gone see my path was just- no longer bound by wrath, cash, fads or lust. When I was little heard my family say you gone be a star one day. I looked at the sky it seemed so far away... Now I'm majestic and reflecting because they said it was so. How did they know? I wish my aunt could see me today. I got a twinkle in my eyes like a God indivisible. Chick by my side waistline that's invisible. I'm digital. Dreams realized individual. Real live thoughts brought forth into visual. Conceive and believe it you've no choice but to be it. I started to believe it to that point that now I just breathe it. That's what it took to get even with me. Do you believe? Then achieve. Be anything you want the world is yours.
Moments surreal when- frozen by fear. Your moment is near- it's, all in here.
Rewind us back.
I'm sick and tired of people saying we don't say nothing I rap.
Just a lot of endless rapping on the mic when in fact, they're right.
That's what happens when it's style over substance. From nothing leads to nothing.
All these kids, no substance. I'll be damned if I'm gone sit and try to say I'm exempt.
I smoke hemp. Spoke of pimp's, endless swimming for trim. Kept it pimpin saw "Big Pimpin" wanted to be like him. But there's a word for it pimpin it's the wages of sin. It's for redemption not to mention the atonement of sins, the reason why I sing so simply peep the tone when I sing. Hope you receive the shit I'm spinning so when I press "send", I hope it reach you to the tune that you're a man among men.
Moments surreal when- frozen by fear. Your moment is near- it's, all in here.
Rewind us back
I had a dog running with me was success or bust. In this game maintain fuck that sex or lust. Because aw trust- it's coming any woman you want. Money, cars, ho's? Fuck it you gone get what you want. Lost his mind- too much time occupied on stunts and hood status and static; he was right on the cusp. Now he's locked up. Sittin looking dumb as fuck. Pressed his luck, lost it all over 300 bucks. Niggaz might think its cool being a certified goon with bodies and cake raising left school. You procreating never contemplating DEA or FED agents even got your GED under investigation. When your destination's hopeless all due to a lack of focus you a grown man sleep behind the wheel. Rewind us back to a place where time had stood still. Big wheels, and love from your mama was a big deal.
