Song Description

I could easily hear this song as is in one of those artistic romantic films with rain falling down as a lonely broken hearted guy sits on the porch under a tin roof... etc. etc. some great angst in it. As is, it stands alone as solo folk or stripped down pop easy listening... but it could also be a demo for a redo with some minimal piano and acoustic percussion etc... and for what it is worth I give it a tentative title of "Frozen Memories" though I'm sure you call it "Memories of You" which is the hook, but so too a oft used one... I also thought perhaps "Seared in my Mind" just to stay away from the more normal title... I enjoyed this song. listened to it several times. God Bless

Lyrics
MEMORIES OF YOU
( STEVE DAFOE 2005 )
( COPYRIGHTED)
Fmaj7 (Pick hard "A' or "D" twice + strum twice and slide to G6 (my definition of Fmaj7 on Third (3rd) Fret...
CHORUS:
Fmaj7 G6
And in my mind ... memories of you
Fmaj7 G6
Frozen still with the passage of time
Fmaj7 G6
A love so kind and once, so true....
Fmaj7 G6
Seared in my mind.... memories of you
Fmaj7 G6
Seared in my mind.... memories of you.......
VERSE 1:
Dm Bb EM
Through the haze of time , I can see you there
Dm Bb EM
In days when you were mine, I still smell the scent..
Dm Bb EM
Both young and carefree, I felt the loving care
Dm Bb EM
But as we grew apart, we no longer meant....
EM
and it's just ............................................................TO CHORUS
VERSE 2:
Dm Bb EM
And surging through my mind, you're still there
Dm Bb EM
With a green dress and that long-flowing hair
Dm Bb EM
Whispering, taunting that you still care...
Dm Bb EM
And then I awake , finally aware..
EM
And it's still.......................................................TO CHORUS
