Song Without Words

Story Behind The Song

As happens so often with works we love, I am now revisiting this piece with the goal of arranging it for full orchestra, and I think the new version (still in development) may surprise listeners. It takes turns both sweet and sweeping, allowing the entire orchestra to "sing" the aria.

Song Description

"Andante cantabile e rubato" was originally conceived as an aria-- with one exception. I never imagined there would be a vocalist. Instead, I aimed soley to write a beautiful and poignant piece that is forever on the tip of your tongue. You feel it but cannot get the words out-- it is truly a "Song Without Words".
