Very strong lead vocal and the guitar tone is really good. The storytelling is easy to follow.
Simple yet poignant piece. Very "Dollyish" voicing that fit this song well. Very clean guitar accompaniment that was mixed well with the solo voice. A little bit of a surprise chording to end the song.
This folksinger is an excellent storyteller. She tells a story of a (rotten) con man who married her (after a month) and ruined her life until she gathered her wits and took off. Every verse is carefully crafted, very original lyrics. Beautiful, crystal clear vocals and nice guitar accompaniment. This song doesn't need much more to make it shine, really. My favorite lyrics: "gave you my heart/lost my head" "buried deep in debt and snockered like before" "cradled up my broken heart and set out on my own" I hope this song will be a good warning to vulnerable females out there.
