Story Behind The Song

having just seen the movie "300" and its eccentric portrayal of king xerxes, i was moved to write this piece... the persians viewed their king as a god: omnipotent, invincible, untouchable... i have tried to capture these beliefs in music using about the same proportion of traditional and modern instrumentation...(the saz I play is almost identical to the same instrument played in Turkey in the same period...likely also played in persia at the same time.
