Story Behind The Song

I think everyone knows of a place we can call "Skeeter Lake". As a kid, we had a place called just that. Friends and myself would go there to catch bullfrogs, snakes, snapping turtles, and catfish. We would get eaten alive by "skeeters" in the process. We didn't care about that. We were just happy to be exploring our hidden lake with good friends.

This song has a swampy kind of feel. It has an organic vibe with slide guitar, banjo, and fiddle. Perhaps the feeling you would get at home in the backwoods with family and friends eating some gumbo or alligator stew! It doesn't get any better than tha
