this is a nice acoustic guitar song with a female vocal
I enjoy the honesty of the composition, it's comes right from the heart! That's always a Great start for a Good tune. The vocalist needs to work on the intonation of the song, she has a nice voice, it's just a tad pitchy, but I think it can be worked out!! It could possibly be just breath control, proper vocal control. Give the tune another sing and see if thru concentration of the pitch....you can work it out!! Good Luck!! I like the sound of your voice!!
These bluesy lyrics will bring you right into the living room and make you feel like the distraught soul is pleading with you, or you may be reminded of how you felt when you were in her situation. Either way, it hits your heart! This would be a great album cut, and a much requested song for Tracy Chapman. It is conversational, desperate, and puts this core feeling of needing reassurance and effort across in an emotionally powerful way. The tune is easy to follow and compliments the lyrics well, rising to a climax as it moves through the chorus.
I like the melody but song lacks a hook
Wow! What a great song! Puts me right in your living room and feeling your pain and angst. If ever a song communicated the cry of a troubled heart, this one does. The word pictures are excellent. The story is real and believable. The cry for help is sincere and poignantly communicated. This song is so real and authentic; I imagine it would be the heart cry of many a troubled wife/girlfriend. "Help me feel safe" Excellent and simple hook.
