The Mommy Song

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this song as a choral piece for kids to sing to their moms on Mother's Day.

Song Description

I love Mommy because Mommy makes me feel special. I know this because of the way she sings to me and prays for me. I want to make her feel special, too!

Lyrics

The Mommy Song

Chorus: Oh, I like being your kid, Mom!
I like being special
I like being your kid, Mom.
I can always count on you to love me.

Every mom is special,
But mine's the best!
God's the One who chose her
over all the rest. (chorus)

When I was little
You were always there
Singing me a song
and sayin' a prayer (chorus)

I will rise up and bless you
like the Bible says.
Honor and obey you
I'll do my best!

Final Chorus:
Oh I like being your kid, mom.
I like being special!
I like being your kid, mom.
I can always count on you to love me.
I can always count on you to love me.
I can always count on YOU to love ME!

This song had me smiling from start to finish! No matter what the world throws at me, nothing will be cuter than this! This will get gobbled up by some FMCG ad in absolutely no time!

fun song, great message, love the kids

I love the guitar and the children's voices - such a great message about how special each child is and also about God's great love for us!

Great, I like being special too..... A very sweet song sung by very sweet children's voices. The minimal piano in the background does not compete with the voice, which is very important in a song for children. Another winner full of heart and love and thoughtful concern for what is right and enjoyable for children.

Super fun to listen to, this song gets into your heart as soon as those kids come piping in. Really great tune. Keeping the instrumentation sparse really keeps the focus on those energetic little voices. Great recording on the vocals and nicely mixed. The light reverb puts me right in the room as a participant. Nice.

Good job recording the kids. Good enthusiasm in their performance, which was also pretty together most of the time.
