Mothers of Teenagers, Unite!

Story Behind The Song

My kids were teenage slobs. (Thank God, now that they're grown and married, they've changed). I tried so hard to teach them that cleanliness is next to godliness, but I failed miserably. This song is my penance! I figured, if I could inspire the next g

Lyrics

CHORUS: Mothers of teenagers, unite!
Stand up, be counted, join the fight!
Don?t be intimidated by your teens.
They?re not as powerful as they may seem.
Stand up and make them clean their room!
Throw ?em a dustrag and a broom!
Pluck up your courage, girls, and with me stress,
?Clean up your room! Death to this mess!?

There once was a mother who had a solution
To rid her son?s room of all its pollution.
She opened his window and started to pitch;
The stuff on the floor flew out to the ditch.
The pile grew higher; the carpet was clean.
Her son returned home and started to scream
But Mother stood steadfastly on her two feet.
She joined in the army and marched to the beat. CHORUS

Please pick up your hairballs and vacuum the floor
And throw out the papers you stashed by the door
And wipe up the food crumbs you left on your desk
?Cause Mommy is sick and tired of your mess!
Put all your CD?s back in their cases and
Hang up your towels in proper places
And make up your bed like I told you before.
I refuse to put up with a slob anymore. (CHORUS)

Your laundry belongs in your drawer and your closet.
When dirty, you must in the hamper deposit
And throw a load into the washing machine
?Cause I?m not your slave, and I?m getting real mean.
I understand why you cannot find your keys
In a room that resembles a catastrophe
But you won?t be driving ?til I say it?s clean
For this my castle and I am the queen! (CHORUS)

Cool and corky sounding just not what I typically listen too......

Love story songs and this a good one.

I like the performance of the song, the singer has great delivery.

Love your enthusiasm. Like I tried to say on the last review which somehow went into cyber space before I was finished, about pushing a swing in the park (think it was you). You say it exactly like it is. Like Woody did with "Songs to Grow On"

Very interesting! But i love it!

very original, would make a great track for a musical, made me laugh :)
