Made in China

Story Behind The Song

Whenever I go shopping at WalMart I get disgusted that everything is made in China nowadays. This song is my rant. Have fun singing along, folks. Warning: It's catchy and kids love it, too!

Song Description

Mrs. Kate goes through the days of the week, every day buying something...but it's always MADE IN CHINA! Grrr. Until you get to the Takee-Outee. The bridge is a socio-political statement and the Sunday message is clear. The amazing arrangement for this song was created and performed by Scott Griffin of Chicago, IL.

Made in China

CHORUS: My boots are made in China
My hat is made in China
Everything is made in China, Everything is made in China

On Monday I must purchase paper clips; I pick up little box, give it a flip.
I look for these 3 letters: U.S.A., But all I find is C-H-I-N-A.
On Tuesday I will try to buy a toy, A birthday present for my little boy.
I'm reading on the box to my dismay: This game was made in C-H-I-N-A. SING CHORUS

Wednesday I go to buy a pair of pants, So I can wear them to the country dance.
The Walmart tag is surely going to say: These jeans are made in C-H-I-N-A.
On Thursday I will order high-tech stuff. To make it here would be so very tough.
We cannot manufacture for cheap wage they pay the folks in C-H-I-N-A. SING CHORUS

On Friday I will visit hardware shop to see if I can find a brand new mop
I know you know what I am going to say: These mops were made in C-H-I-N-A.
On Saturday I crave a Chinese meal. The Takee Outee has such a good deal.
My friends, I am delighted now to say: This Chinese food is made in USA!

BRIDGE: Our dollar bill still says "In God we trust."
But our factories shut down and fill with rust.
Our unemployed are standing in the street
Eating groceries that they buy with EBT.

On Sunday we must bow our heads and pray for God to help the great U.S. of A.
Our nation's not for sale and so we sing: Oh God, don't let us be bought by Beijing!
