Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song for the Florida Song Contest. The tune was originally written for a friend of mine in college, but I rewrote the song for Florida and like it better now.
Song Description
Traveling from the east to the west coast of Florida, with a noontime stop in the central springs, the Florida Sunshine beams down in this happy song.

Lyrics
Florida Sunshine, O cast your beam on me
From Everglades to Augustine,
From sea to shining sea.
And when I sink my toes into your sand
I warm up to the wonder of this Florida Land
Sunrise on the shore,
Light the eastern beach
Here's a ray of rose;
There's a touch of peach
Sparkle on the sand
Glance the seagull's wing
And Shine----O Florida, sing!
High noon at the springs
Now I feel the heat
Gators in the grass
Catfish in the creek
Diamond prism dance
Sapphire in the deep
O Shine----and Florida, sing!
Bridge: Light my world, Tan my skin
Green the groves, make me grin
And shine, O Florida, sing!
Sundown on the bay
Westerly she sinks
Paintbrush in the sky
Violet and pink
Hail the Master's hand
Lift your voice and sing
And Shine----O Florida, sing!
