Lyrics
I know who rules the roost - You do!
You dry your wings in the tree.
The sun makes glory shine on your back
Then you fly away free. CHORUS
CHORUS: Anhinga, Anhinga, you look so funny
Your wings-a, Your wings-a stick out in the air. Awk Awk! (repeat)
I like the way you catch your lunch.
You make your beak like a spear.
You toss that fishy up in the sky
Then whoop! Make him disappear. (gulping sound) CHORUS
Bridge: Oooo Anhinga see a fish
Oooo Anhinga eagle eye (eye, eye, eye)
Oooo Anhinga wants to eat (EAT! EAT!)
Oooo Anhinga, take a dive.
CHORUS.
And when you want a little romance
You nuzzle your honey's neck,
You make her a nest out of moss and twigs
Where she can lay her blue eggs. CHORUS
Some call you turkey; some call you snake.
I like to call you my friend.
And I will take care of your Everglades
So the River of Grass never ends!
