Story Behind The Song
Those wild and crazy Middle Easterners certainly have a flair for the dramatic when it comes to language. They can unleash florid phrases at the drop of a hat.
Back in 1991, when the old U.S. of A. was embroiled in the first Gulf War in Iraq, Saddam Hussein was ranting and bloviating and hurling some pretty vile threats at the Great Satan, America. On the evening news, I heard him vow to create a river of the blood of Americans "which will have a beginning, but will have no end." I thought, "I like those words, they're lovely, just not in that context."
So, I put them in a love song.

Lyrics
I had a feeling, I let it go
I had stories and problems all too tall to tell
But I've got this love here for you my friend
Which will have a beginning but will have no end
I had a fortune, I let it go
I had dreams and glories all too tough to sell
But I've got this love here for you my friend
And it has a beginning but will have no end
And in my mind, I see everything as it's supposed to be
And every time that I close my eyes, I still see you and me
I know the feeling, and when it comes again
It will have a beginning but will have no end
I had a vision; it's real you know
About things to do and time and place to do them well
And I've got this love here for you my friend
Which will have a beginning but will have no end
It will have a beginning
No end
