Story Behind The Song
I sang this for my best friend, a brilliant and talented artist, who was dying of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, at my CD release show. She requested that I sing it at her memorial service, which I did, but it's not about dying; it's about living - really living.
Song Description
Those who live in Northern climates understand the significance of snow melting and new growth appearing in the spring. It's so much more than another season. It changes everything, and every year we can look forward to a chance at new life. It also reminds us that we have to wait and be patient for good things to come of our hard work.

Lyrics
WATER FROM SNOW
V. 1: First the seed is planted, then you hope and wait.
Thirsty for tomorrow, holding on to faith.
Winter nights seem endless, a sign of spring is slow.
But patience is rewarded with WATER FROM SNOW.
V. 2: It takes a long, cold winter for snow to get this deep.
Underneath that blanket your dreams are just asleep.
Every flower waits, like you, for just a chance to grow.
Oh, spring will follow winter with WATER FROM SNOW.
Bridge: Don't give up when your heart can't sing.
It's only winter, remember spring!
V. 3: It's running to the rivers, climbing up the shore,
Water in abundance, all you need and more.
Under April sunshine the banks will overflow
Oh, when the weather warms they'll be WATER FROM SNOW.
