Lyrics

Goodbye occupation,
Hello brave new world,
Goodbye to the hands that used to do the work,
Where do I go from here,

Pry my fingers from their hold,
Collect my final pay,
As I step into the cold,
On my final day,

Past three generations,
My family worked the mill,
Programs and profits shadow heritage,
I drag my life on up the hill,

In an hour no one will care,
What's become of me,
In a corner of a corporate field,
Another casualty,

I guess the world seems to be changing,
I guess I tried hard not to see,
I guess I'll put the past behind me,
Regain my sense of human dignity,

Goodbye occupation,
Hello brave new world,
Goodbye to the hands that used to do the work,
Where do I go from here.

This song is very nice.. good vibe.......

Very pleasant sound about a very unpleasant situation which more and more people must face. Instrumentation and vocals are good and very appropriate for this piece.

A great song, with intelligent and meaningful lyrics. The performance is emotional and intense throughout. There are carefully thought-out harmonic twists and turns which keep the listener engaged. I like the ending on the relative minor for example, reflecting the sadness and anxiety of the lyrics. There is some lovely guitar work both in the rhythm and lead sections, and it all blends together well. The backing vocals add warmth and sweetness from verse two onwards, and the bass and drums are supportive when they enter, helping the song to build before the guitar solo. The guitar sound in the solo is rich and warm and provides a good contrast, whilst remaining in character.

Like the overall mood of this song tasty licks and theme here! Reminds me of CS & Nash early on. Pleasant!

Love it! Right from the beginning, the classic rock style acoustic guitar picking hooked me in and took me for a ride! One of the very best songs I have heard on Broadjam, and better than 99% of the stuff that comes on my radio stations. Reminds me of Emerson Lake and Palmer, same kind of beautiful acoustic rock guitar. I also liked how the song was not repetitive, kept my interest by adding in nice blend of instrumentation. Whoever wrote this is a true talent!

First impression the acoustic guitar tone and playing is fantastic. The guitarist is top notch...I'm jealous. Lovely change at 0.31. Thoughtful, clever lyrics. The introduction of the drums at 0.52 is very effective. Strong lead vocal and good use of backing vocals which come in a just the right points. A very engaging, catchy song. It reminds me of CSN.
