Alaska In The Summertime

Story Behind The Song

My own exuberance about Alaska needed writing, hence, this song in that swing rhythm I love.

Song Description

The female narrator welcomes the tourists, applauds summer in the Arctic, the lattitude, the midnight sun- her prime time. Then she launches into a mouthful of Eskimo/Inupiat/Athabascan village and town names which tourists and locals just love! It is a melodic mouthful of beautiful names evoking fantastic images of possibilities. Wild horses couldn't drag me away....

plenty fish on my plate
purty faces from out of state
the Arctic air in June is sweet

V2- Alaska In The Summertime, sitting here on top of the world
I don't waste much time asleep
ain't much for counting sheep
I'm an outdoor midnight sun kind of girl
