Day In The Sun

I wrote this tune back in 1999. Another version is here on broadjam but it's very different. This version is the result of experimenting with different Rhythms. Made the Earth Top 10 in 2015.

Lyrics

Day In The Sun

The sun beats down on my ceiling and walls.
My shoes are tired from walking these halls.
The cat is jumping and starting to claw.
I pick her up, put her out on the lawn
and it's Another day in the sun.
Oh, my mind is on the run

The clock is ticking but never in time.
I guess I always ran a little behind.
Friends reach out but they're too far away.
Ties are stretching and fading to grey.
and it's Another day in the sun.
Oh, my mind is on the run

The radio's up a bit too loud.
I'd go out but I can't face the crowd.
I can't compete feeling the strain.
So, I retreat with no one to blame.
and it's Another day in the sun.
Oh, my mind is on the run
