This song tells a great story. The girl in the alley rises to stardom in Hollywood, and the guy that knew her back when sings his lament. Touched with clever sarcasm and some regret and sadness, this story is believable and well-presented. Even though the lyrics aren't posted, I was able to follow the writer's story from beginning to pathetic end. There's some really clever lyric writing in this song. "can't see past her nose", "pie in the face". Finding humor in a sad story. Nice job, songwriter!
