Lyrics
GOODBYE CAR
VERSE
Came home from work, my key wouldn't fit the door
Looked down, the lock was new, what'd ya do that for
Took notice of the side yard
Favorite jersey and my football cards
Cowboy hat, pictures of friends
Everything I owned was blowin in the wind
CHORUS
Why'd you go and do me so wrong
The whole darn thing is like a heartbreak song
Guess I'm supposed to head to the bar
Cry in my beer to a steel guitar
I ain't down with that
Found my baseball bat, there's your car
INTERLUDE
VERSE
Mama tried to warn me, about the insanity
Son, she's a whole lot more, than a little bit crazy
Wish I would have listened
Could have avoided this situation
Blinders on, I was in lust
Another dang fool gone and bit the dust
CHORUS
BRIDGE
The mighty Babe is at the plate
Move those curtains one more time, watch me swing away
CHORUS
Why'd you go and do me so wrong
The whole darn thing is like a heartbreak song
Guess I'm supposed to head to the bar
Cry in my beer to a steel guitar
I ain't down with that
Looky here's my bat
I ain't down with that, there's your car
Goodbye car
Goodbye car
