Story Behind The Song
The symbolism of the bumble bee's sting that could possibly kill me describes the passion and futility of the relationship. The song was born all at once as I was sitting in my sorrow over the loss of an intense relationship. My ex had written me a poem in which he described himself as a bumble bee pollinating the flowers of the world with the memory of me. The poem touched me deeply and the song flowed out in its entirety in about half an hour. It was so symbolic because I actually am allergic to bee stings.

Lyrics
Bumble bee don't release me
You were always the one
Bumble bee don't waste your time
You were always the one
You could take me
all the way to the moon
You could take me there
You could take me up into the sky
I would follow you there
Bumble bee your sting could kill me
If I let you get too close
Bumble bee you could find me
If you really try
Try!
Bumble bee how can I resist you?
You were always the one
Bumble bee I won't waste my time
You were always the one
You could take me
all the way to the moon
You could take me there
You could take me up into the sky
I would follow you there
I would follow you anywhere
Oh anywhere, anywhere
Bumble bee please release me
You were always the one
