Story Behind The Song
We wrote this song after watching our teenage daughter go through the trials and tribulations of dating guys who didn't treat her the way she deserved to be treated. It's a love song of patience, optimism and self worth.
Song Description
A parent talking to their daughter about finding real love, sung with female lead vocals and male harmonies over a sparse arrangement of acoustic guitar, strings, and kick drum.

Lyrics
You've been faking it for some time
Settling for OK pretending it's fine
I know you know the way it should feel
Don't give up on real
Warm summer evenings driving through town
Music turned up and the windows down
Dog riding shotgun that's how it should feel
Don't give up on real
It'll be worth the wait
Don't give up on real
You'll get to share a sun rise
After talking all night
When you know it's real
You'll hold on tight
You'll find someone
To be your partner in crime
It'll be worth the wait
Give it time
You might have some lonely nights
Staring at the ceiling so did I
Believe me I remember
I remember how those feel
Don't give up on real
Make sure to love yourself you still got time
Know you're amazing enjoy your ride
If you fall down sometimes you know those scars will heal
Don't give up on real
It'll be worth the wait
Don't give up on real
You'll get to share a sunrise
After talking all night
When you know it's real
You hold on tight
You'll find someone
To be your partner in crime
It'll be worth the wait
When you find a love like mine
