Christmas Comes, Great Joy

Story Behind The Song

That even when you are grown-up, Christmas is still so special and magic. You have to believe like the young woman in the story, who still believed so strongly in Christmas and its wonderful spirit, when she crept down Christmas Morning, a stocking was hanging in the fireplace for her......Just as it always had been throughout her childhood. How, I don't know. But it was magical.

Song Description

She is too excited to go back to sleep and believes she will still find a stocking hanging in her firelace and creeps downstairs. Just as she expected, there is a stocking hanging there, with little gifts. She sits on the floor wrapped in her duvet, and hopes and hopes that the stocking is for her and then feels sure it is and takes out a gift, it has her name. and she unwaps a chocolate Christmas Tree. She then puts on her red coat, black boots and sets off to go to church in the snow. The late-back owls are still hooting in he wood, and the church is filled with candlelight. The church is full of love and frienship and soon, everyone is singing loud and clear to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus.

Lyrics

I'm waking like a little child,
it's icy cold, the wind is wild,
and snow is rushing past my window pane,
I can't go back to bed and sleep again
I go downstairs and then I creep to see
if there's a stocking that's just for me.

Chorus
Christmas comes, great joy,
Christmas comes, baby Boy,
Sing out loud today,
Going on our way.

I'm in my duvet and I'm on the floor,
I hesitate, but then I'mreally sure,
the gifts inside are really meant for me,
and I unwrap a chocolate Christmas Tree.

Chorus
Christmas comes, great joy,
Christmas comes, baby Boy,
Sing out loud today,
Going on our way.

I'm in my duvet and I'm on the floor,
I hesitate, but then I'mreally sure,
The gifts inside are really meant for me,
And I unwrap a chocolate Christmas Tree.

Chorus
Christmas comes, great joy,
Christmas comes, baby Boy,
Sing out loud today,
Going on our way.

I dress in red and wear my best black boots,
Owls fly home still hooting lots of hoots,
My footprints look like Santa's in the snow,l
I'm off to church to share the candles' glow.

Chorus
Christmas comes, great joy,
Christmas comes, baby Boy,
Sing out loud today,
Going on our way.

We sing to Jesus, voices loud and clear,
Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus Dear,
We gently rock you in our arms and hearts,
For all the love to come that you impart.

Chorus
Christmas comes, great joy,
Christmas comes, baby Boy,
Sing out loud today,
Going on our way.
