We All Want To Be Loved

Story Behind The Song

I wanted to write an 80's style girl band song with a dance beat. The lyrics turned out with a slightly darker subtext to an uplifting chorus line. This song's title is We All Want To Be Loved but what the song is really asking is why do we want to be loved? Well - there's no answering that - it's bigger than we are.

Song Description

Love is often not what we expected - and we accept its shortcomings if we want a relationship to survive. Things are never what they seem and sometimes we suspect another's real feelings or motives. It's often best to accept that things will never be perfect in life.

Lyrics

We All Want To Be Loved
The winds blow warm
Down in paradise
Here in your arms
It's twice as nice
Though it's not as safe as it seems
Where would I be
If I didn't have your love

We (we all)
We want to be loved
Shiny sun turns to rain all the same
We all want to be loved
And when the rain gets in your eyes you wonder
How long til you've had enough?
I want to be free
I want to be me
Sometimes it's so hard to see
Why we want to be loved?

Your love can hide
Sometimes we're worlds away
I've got my pride
But I'm still here today
Though it's not all that I dreamed
And things are never quite what they seem
I wouldn't change your love

Chorus

We we all
We want to be loved
