Story Behind The Song
One of my good friends (are there any other kind?) was diagnosed with breast cancer. Our small circle of friends felt pretty helpless but did what we could in our own ways to support her. Happily, she got the "all clear" after treatment. Later, when I was walking past a table with breast cancer awareness materials, I saw a T-shirt with the slogan "Fight Like a Girl." Immediately the beginning of the chorus of this song appeared. I convinced my friend and our support group to join me in the recording studio, wearing their pink of choice, and belt out the choruses. They did such a great job and it was a lot of fun. Good for us and good for our survivor!
