Memories (Creighton)
It's summertime on Wavell street I got the sun in my eye's I'm sitting outside on our front steps it's 1975 my Mother's there in her favorite chair keeing an eye on me and Dad's on the sidewalk washing the car these are my memories
Down at the lake there's a water fountain goes straight up into the clouds the castle I built has a drawbridge made out of popsicle sticks I found I dug a trench with my two bare hands but the water just won't stay in I run back and forth with my plastic pail to see it full again and these are the
memories I have
Me and a friend from across the street would go ride the INCO fence one button was blue and the other one green couldn't read but knew what they meant the green one swung you forward and the blue one swung ya back then he got stuck between the posts and that was the end of that these are the memories I have
I'm 34 and married we live a few miles away sometimes I'll drive to that torn down town and rebuild it with my memories and it's all there crystle clear just like yesterday and Grampa's tree is still there to see and I'm sitting on the front steps with the sun in my eyes as I drive away
