Lyrics
"Grampa Had a Dinosaur"
©2008
Author: Andrew J. Blackwood
Grampa told this story
It's one you won't believe.
He told me of a friend he had
In nineteen-forty-three.
He said he knew a dinosaur.
Played with him every day.
I asked him where he met him.
But he would never say.
They went every single place.
His story always came with a smile upon his face.
I think that it is kind of strange
That every time that story seemed to change.
He'd meet him at the corner.
To downtown they would walk.
He wasn't much for conversation
Dinosaur's can't talk.
Sometimes they'd go fishing,
And then they'd go to school.
He took him once to show and tell
'Cause dinosaurs are cool.
Gramma would turn and look away.
She always had to laugh at the things he had to say.
She said, "Be careful what you read.
And don't believe half of what you see."
I wish I had a dinosaur that I could call my friend.
Grampa says it's possible because I can pretend.
